A mining investigation is an investigations similar to the corporate investigations that deal with the mining industry as a whole.

Types of mining investigations could include:
Workplace Bullying
Any unreasonable repeated behaviour towards a worker or a group of workers which creates a risk to health and safety. This could include allegations of unreasonable criticism of a worker or an exclusion from workplace discussions or events. Even belittling someone’s work may be bullying.

It is illegal to discriminate and the workplace is no different. If a person is treated less favourably based on their gender, race, religion, age, sexual orientation or disability could be an unlawful ground of discrimination

Any unwanted or unwelcome behaviour of a sexual nature causing someone to feel humiliated, intimidated or offended is a form of sexual harassment.
Mining Safety
If an employee has a serious accident or near miss or an employee suffers an injury due to one of these violations, would constitute a mining safety investigation.
Criminal Matters
Any matters committed in the workplace either by the employee or employer could be a matter for a mining investigation. Matters may include theft, fraud, the use of illegal drugs and physical violence.
