An ugly case is currently before the Westminster Magistrates’ Court in London, where it is alleged that the father-in-law of chef Gordon Ramsay hacked into Ramsay’s emails almost 2,000 times to try to dig up dirt on him.
Gordon Ramsay’s father-in-law, Chris Hutcheson is alleged to have gone through password-protected accounts after being removed from the family business that he shared with Ramsay. The motive it appears is that Hutcheson is attempting to find dirt on Ramsay since his sacking. However a more sinister motive is that Hutcheson suspected Ramsay had leaked a photo of his mistress Sara Stewart and he was searching for that photo of evidence of the leak.
In another strange twist to this case is that Hutcheson appeared in court with his sons Adam, Chris and daughter Orlanda with all three being charged with conspiring to access Ramsay’s data.
The alleged offences have alleged to have taken place between October 2010 and March 2011 after Ramsay’s father-in-law was sacked from the company Gordon Ramsay Holdings Ltd. It is alleged that police found emails in which the four discussed ‘cracking the passwords’. Police have reviewed material it is alleged that almost 2,000 unauthorised entries into the accounts of Gordon Ramsay Holdings Ltd had been found.
Unfortunately there is history between Ramsay and his father-in-law where in an ugly 2012 High Court Hutcheson branded his son-in-law a fame-obsessed ‘monster’ and accused him of turning his daughter Tana, 42, against him. Ramsay in reply called him a ‘dictator’, accusing him of womanising and leading a ‘very complex life’.
The four alleged offenders in this matter in court in April and were released on unconditional bail.
